Adding power for a PS3

Can someone please help me?

I'm looking to add extra power in the dash and under the passenger seat for additional devices such as an external hard drive, X-Box or PS3. Can anyone please help me with this? This is new to me so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Chris.

You are going to need to get a power inverter, preferably one that is hard wired to your truck. I had a 400watt and it ran a ps2. I would go with like a 1000w so you can run multiple devices. Maybe higher depending on what all you want to run and how much you want to spend.

Thanks Dankle666,

How do I hard wire a power inverter in the dashboard? Do I connect to the wires of the lighter behind the centre faceplate? I have a 140w is that enough for a USB external hard drive? I plan to replace it with a larger inverter later but will this do for now? Forgive me for being such a newbie at this.

This is what you are really gonna need to do. Pick up a Power Inverter that can run about 5-10 amps. (thats actually the important # on these). Wire it up just as you would an amplifier and go that way. If you have the know-how wire your inverter behind a relay.

87 - Wire FUSED 10-12ga power wire from battery
87a - N/A
86 - Positive to Ign wire (FUSED)
85 - Ground
30 - Wire to 12v+ on inverter.
