Radio Presets

'93 F150 w/std radio and casset player. Lately the radio loses it's presets overnight. What could be causing this?? I have to reset all my favorite stations every morning!! Electrical system and battery are fine. Time for a new radio???
Thanks for any input on this problem! 'Mo

Hmmm.....does it loose the presets everytime you turn off the truck? Or will it keep them all day, and just loose them after sitting over night?

It loses them overnight. I have been running around with the truck shut off for up to an hour and it still keeps the presets. However, in the morning they are gone! The clock is blank also. Have to reset radio and clock. It's something I can live with but it is very annoying!!!
The truck is "Ford Tough" but apparently the radio didn't get the word!!!!! 'Mo

A fifteen year old OEM radio that still works... = pretty damn good
  • Check the voltage at the radio in the morning (pre-key) on the constant wire.
  • Check the voltage at the battery in the morning (pre-Key in ignition)
  • Replace fuse
  • Check wires from fusebox to radio
  • Drive to my shop and let me look at it...
