I don't know about panasonic, but alpine needs both a positive and ground connection. And not just constant power/ground, but pulses. Does your manual tell you to push in the brake, put the park brake on and off and on again (or some variation)? I know with my alpine i had to make 2 switches: one positive for the brake and one ground for the park brake. I have to flip the switches in a certain order for it to work. You should be able to get a bypass on ebay that will do it for you, i'm just too lazy to buy one for myself. Just search for your "panasonic 'deck model' bypass" and you should find it right away.

If I remember right, the Strada needed a switch on the grounded pk. Brake. Try that.
