X3-FRDW aux install issue - any opinions?

Installed a new X3 auxiliary input unit in my '02 Scab to run my Sirius through by direct audio feed (in lieu of the FM signal) - the unit installs at the console mounted cd changer. Flawless install, Sirius feed works perfectly, as do the am/fm and tape outputs..

Problem - now when playing a cd the left channel plays out like it's blown - heavy static, distorted audio... every other audio selection plays fine.

Feed cable issue perhaps? have emailed vendor and manuf for their thoughts in the interim -

Also - and I should have thought of this by nature of the install - the X3 functions through the cd changer as it's output source, so it appears the CD player will have to run as if it's playing cd's, whenever I'm using the X3 to play my Sirius - there won't be any audio interference from the cd, just appears to be no way to bypass the play mode to save on the wear/tear
