Some CD changer questions for a 2004

Could someone help me with a few questions concerning a 2004 F-150 cd player. I currently have a DVD/CD player in the dash and I want to go back to a factory 6 cd player/changer.

Where do I find these? Very hard to find. Also, will any year of cd player/changer (04-07) work?

And if it says "MP3 player", does that mean it plays MP3 cds, or that there is a place to plug in your Ipod?

Thanks for your help.

you shold actually look int he classifieds on here. If I were you I would look for one from a 2005 or 2006 F-150. Reason is because apparently some of the 04's had defective MP3 players on them (the audiophile 6 disc changer).
I bought one from ebay from a 2004 specifically for the reason of wanting to it to play mp3's. When i got it, it wouldnt play and said "bad disc" and spit it out. Even when I burn a disc but not in the mp3 format, it will half ass play, and skip around and then eventually quit playing and say bad disc. afterwards i did a look up, and i found where there was a recall or something like that on the 04's. i got burned, so be careful.

Dont know if this will help ya, but it can't hurt, so here goes. I bought my truck in January and since i have had it the CD player has never worked. I push the CD button and it says CD error; i hit the eject button and it says CD error. One of the guys on here said it was because the timing of the CD changer was out. He described it like a elevator that opens doors between floors. I dont know if this is an 04 specific problem (as my truck is an 04), but he said that through his job he has come across this problem with the changer multiple times.
I plan to get a head unit to replace my CD player sometime in May, but i have been in university since i bought the truck and no paycheck=no mods...yet.

Good luck
