Here is a little bracket that swivels to mount your ipod. I forgot the brand name but I can look it up if you're interested. Kinda expensive though.
Check out my gallery.

Try one of these mounting kits with 3M tape and mount it in your glove box.

My truck has a little useless storage just under the steering wheel. I pop my ipod in there, its out of view and i can get it easy when i need it. Dont know if this compartment is still there in the 04+ thou.

Honestly you should be removing it. The ipod is not made to withstand certain temperatures esp if its hard drive based. Once your done listening to it, take it inside.

3M tape on back side of glove box. Stays in truck and hidden, can't see it unless you drop the glovebox down all the way (not just opening it).

Wow - we need to drink less before answering guys - read the ?

I'm not sure if you are using the factory H/U or not - I put in the Kenwood 6019 and ran both the audio and video under and thru the arm rest. I then fabricated a custom bracket to hold the ipod in place right under the arm rest so when you lift it up it rises with the arm rest itself (super stelth). I never take my Ipod out unless i'm leaving on a flight. Its nice and safe, b/c no-one knows where it is....untill now!

I have an 07 and keep mine laying in the glove box. THAT said.. I have the center console shifter and have considered on many occasions leaving the iPod under that trim panel. It pops off easy and is not only out of sight but it wouldn't be stolen even if someone broke in.

I only sync my iPod with the PC once every month or two, the rest of the time it stays in the truck, so no biggy. Hell, now I'm really tempted to go put it there right now....
