Help!!!!

I just installed my new cb radio antenna, and when i hook up the swr meter, it seems as if i can't get it to read under 3. It's a 4 ft. Steel whip and i tried moving it up and down about 100 times and i can't get it under 3. Any ideas?

4' steel whip with no coil or nothing?? You wont be able to get the SWR down unless there is a coil OR your steel whip is 102" long. Buy a new antenna that is adjustable and it will solve your problem.

The K40 is an ok antenna but I drive tractor trailers for a living, almost every trucker out there uses Wilson 3000 or 5000 antennas. Some guys go crazy and get the Gurilla made antennas but they are stupid expensive. I have used the wilson 3000 for about 3 years now and it's a great antenna in my opinion. I've got it hooked up to my Galaxy radio with my secret black box under the seat. I can get out over most of the radio rambos out here !
