which tuner to choose

i know this topic has probably been beaten to death time after time but searching and reading miles of threads doesnt answer the question.

trying to avoid getting a custom tune or another trip to the service station.

do all the tuners offer the same choices ?
is their any brand that stands out when compareing the so called canned tunes.

i know i have seen superchips on here and they have the charts to back up their claims.

recommend a good tuner for the money and features !

my 04 4.6L is my first computer controlled truck .
currently i just have a Borla cat back exhaust SI/DO the back door

i want to add E-fans
under drive pulley set
CAI ( lookin at a S&B )
shorty headers (also in stainless possibly gibson )
and upgrade to either 4.10 or 4.30 gears

Gotts mod>cai for the price.

Get a custom tune with the work you are looking todo.

Personally I have an edge on my truck and love it. Plan to upgrade to a gryphon when I can afford it.

Gotts mod ?
i have the 2" snorkle pulled off the end of my intake already, that looked fishy the day i brought it home.
a 4" intake tube opening into the fender well thru a 2" opening, that was in the garbage long ago.
looked at a dyno chart for the S&B CAI (10 hp on the 4.6L)with a canned 87 tune from superchips i think

The GOTTS mod is simply replacing the snorkel with a piece of 3" pvc and a 3" coupling. You should do something like that cuz you don't want to pull in the heat from the engine bay

i have the cortex from superchips and love it. i got the cai tunes for my K&N free cause there was a problem with the thier program to purchase them but it would have only cost 10$. there is a superchips guy on here to ask if they can tune for what you want. i am going to be getting rid of my cortex in spring beacause i'm installing obx long tube headers and he said beacause it moves the o2 sensor they wouldnt be able to tune for it as they only tune leagal exhaust( mine is off road). i believe his name is scott and he was verry helpful.
