i have a 2004 f150 i bought the pocket style fenders. im taking them to get painted tomorrow. the instructions say i need to drill holes in the fenders. there are already some holes in the fenders. does anyone have a write up on what to do. or can anyone help me out.
the holes that the instructions are talking about are where the little decoration bolts go on the bushwacker flares. or are you talking about on the inner lip of the wheel well?
also make sure that you are going to keep these for awhile if you get them because they will mess up your paint before long.

yeah i plan on keeping them. im looking at the instructions. its step 4 it says using the indents on backside of flare pockets as a guide, drill 5/16" holes.
oh i know what you are talking about. it's telling you to drill holes through the new flares where the little indentions are all over it. this is so you can put the torx bolts and nuts through the flare. heres a pic of mine. you drill like fourty something holes i think.

are you sayin that u have to drill holes through the side of your truck to install the fender flairs, i thought the billet things were just decoration
no but when you get the bushwacker flares they are dissasembled, so you have to drill a bunch of holes in the sides of them to put the billet screws in them. you are right they are just for decoration, but you have to put them on the flares.

yeah i remember thinking that it was a big bit too. have you looked at the size of the short torx screws that go on the flares? if i remember right they are kind of short and thick.
oh and when you put the front flares on i highly suggest that you get some bolts and lock nuts instead of using the plastic rivets that bushwacker gives you. i had two fenders fall off before i switched mine.

yeah the torx screws fit good. i just drilled all the hole didnt take me long at all. yeah i read a thread that u put up saying your flare came off riding down the road.

oh ok so ur drillin the holes in the flairs not the side of the truck, ok i was confussed there cause ive been lookin for a set and that kinda cofussed me
Here I'm thinking of going ahead a permanently mounting them using those holes. I still need to modify my fronts to reinstall so this may happen. Sucks that they screw up the paint underneath cause I have scratches on my front fenders before I got the bumper. I just wish bushwacker would come out with the cutoff flares for the f150.
