E-fans

i think ive found my set up.i think the controller can handle both fans without the FRH?
will these fans work the spal controller? in the specs of the controller they say • A brushed DC motor MUST be connected to the fan output or the unit will report an
error code. Possible use with very low power (<4A) fans and non SPAL products may
also cause fan not found error code. SPAL USA will not guaranty this products functionality
with NON SPAL fans as too often specifications are unknown.

anyone used these fans?
2 of these fans---3000cfm and 9 amps each

and the controller

Just search the boards. There are a lot of guys here that use a Spal controller with non-Spal fans with no problesms. That is just what they say in order to get you to buy the Spal fans as well as the controller.

Will this work for a daily driver? if the fans run with the ac how does the engine get to right temp? and if they spin at full speed with the ac goin down the road wont the fan motors burn up? sorry for all the dumb questions but this seems like alot over work if your stock fan is still workin?

I use the PWM V3 with a set of Troyer fans, but I also use the FRH as reccomended and because it's another backup should I have some kind of roadside failure. Spal says to use only Spal fans because that's how they test in the lab, so they know it works. I was not concerned running non-spal fans and have been trouble free. Ask they guys at A1 what their thoughts are on running two through the PWM. My concern was lack of redudancy in the system without the FRH. Good luck.

I have the Troyer kit on my truck. I have a switch to turn off the controllers so I can cross water and be sure that the fans are off. I also have two individual switches to turn on the fans independently of the controllers. If ever a controller fails I can turn on the fans manually. I have 2 blue LEDs to indicate that the fans are running in my dash so I can tell that they are on. I wired them to the power lead to the fan motor. If ever a fuse blows to the fans I will know because the LEDs will not turn on. I do not run an Under Drive pulley because of the supercharger. I did prior to the blower and had no ill effects. The lights did dim at idle but the alternator is fully capable of recharging the battery once under way. FYI when the lights dim you are using the battery to make up the lack of output from the alternator.
