I read your other post. Since my truck is a 2004, I didn't have an electronically controlled clutch fan. I would call Troyer and see if they can help. Sorry.
they troyer told me it should'nt throw a check engine light,, mine 08 also but still in line to get them..... but there would be codes in there refering to the fan clutch,,,but to just lay the sensor off to the side and not to worry about it
OK. Just got an e-mail back from Troyer. They are waiting on the manufacurer that makes the mounting brackets for the e-fans. Said there are 5 orders waiting for the brackets. They are hopeful in saying the 5 remaining orders will go out thursday or friday this week.
yeah i ordered my e-fans last night after talking to anita and she said hopefully the brackets will be in today. im sure im one of those remaining orders. i really hope it gets shipped this week. then i will have something to work on not this weekend but the weekend after

Troyer instructions says to use 8-10 degrees over the stock rating of 196 degrees for the first fan (so 204-206) and 8-10 degrees above that for the second fan (so 214-216) when measuring with an infrared thermometer at the spot of the temp probe.
I used my XCal2 and data logged the coolant temperature directly and used 196 and 206 instead of using the infrared thermometer. I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I never got around to calling Troyer to confirm that I should use these values since I was measuring directly from the PCM.
I'm finally on the list to ship,, ups tracking # just came in not to bad ordered 1 month ago but i waited till the last day to make up my mind ,,,and you know how hard that is
i missed the group buy, mother ducker! still i would only save maybe 40-50 bucks if i made a kit my self. need some side work so i dont have to pay $429, one day maybe.
you guys paid $430 for those things!?!? I paid $40 for the controller and $90 for two 16" fans. Man, I sure hope he puts that money to good use...
Here is what I have learned over the years:
CHEAPER, DOES NOT = BETTER.
Feel free to let us know when your 40 dollar controller melts and your fans stop working. I will bet that happens long before mine. I would also imagine your rad will pop a leak before the fans have a chance to break as I have seen in your other thread you have mounted them through the core.
Good luck and sleep well knowing you bought the cheapest set up you could find.

I learned that very lesson years ago when I mounted a single fan on my old ranger. I use the rod through the radiator and all the other corner cutter tricks. Needless to say I won't do that again.
Raptor you are preaching about how great and cheap that set up is, but you've had it less than a month. In other threads it seems you already had overheating issues as well. I do not think you give a true description of the applications.
