i put them in the oven @ 250 for 10 mins. then pry the clear cover off. scuff up the chrome and paint it with Krylon fusion.. it way easier than the headlights

Im working on that..... I have something "special" planned for the headlights.... And if all goes well I will do a full write up on how to do it.

So if you know anyone with a real cheap set that I can play with send them my way.

BlackoutFX4,

What paint did you use on your running boards and what is hard to apply? I have the bright factory running boards and I want to paint them black, if possible.

EDIT: I found your thread on the running boards, but I am still wondering about the fender flairs. Thanks...

Also, did you paint the factory fender flairs while they were on the truck or did you take them off? How hard was it to prepare the surface for painting? They look very smooth in the picture.

Thanks,

KR-Texas

Yeah I had a set of hellas about a year and a half ago and they got quite a bit of condensation in one, when I tried taking the lens off the headlight fell and the dang inside reflective plate broke, I was stupid and thru the set away, I'll have another set soon. Here's how it looked with them on.
