I assume part of the reason for the tie rod connector shape is for clearance, but after drilling the mounting holes in it there is not much meat left. I would not be surprised if you do not break a handful of these things.

Mel, owner/operator of off road evolution says this has never happened and should've never happened. He is submitting the damaged part to dynatrac for a thorough inspection to determine why this happened.

If it is determined that the part was defective then he plans to install new tierod ends (left and right) and I'll carry a set in the truck in the event it breaks again.

If it breaks again then he'll conclude that the part is simply just too weak and it will need to be reinforced.

..........I hope it doesn't break while I'm doing 60-80 mph and hitting whoops.

Yeah those high steer arms have a lot of leverage on them when put in a bind like that. People break them all the time on trail trucks. They may make a kit of some type to add extra studs to the knuckles. I know they make "6 shooter knuckles" for toyota solid axles, i would imagine they would for dana 60's.

yep. Right after OG posted this thread i broke off all 4 studs on my knuckle out at hidden falls. Just got it fixed and doing the 6 shooter knuckles unfortunately the only choice is TG, which sucks) and new steering arms (again) once i'm working again.
