Does the 2008 F150 5,4 has differentsial lock's?

Limited slip as an option in the rear axle only. Ford has never offered a factory locker before.

My problem is that I need a rear locker. Wich one to choose. Car is 2008 Lariat with 3.73 rear axle.

it will most likely cost just as much as the factory installed option clutch locker and it will work a million times better!

Ford has never offered a true locking differential and they still don't. Its doubtful that they ever will as the take rate would be small and many of the people who would get it wouldn't know WTF it was when they order and then bitch about how it handles. ALL YOU CAN GET IS A LIMITED SLIP OR OPEN DIFF PERIOD! BTW, this has been covered on these forums in depth over and over again.

Ok, but how do I know wich axle it has? 8,8 or 9 or 9,75 or 10,25?

The 9" hasn't been used since the VERY early 80s, so you're only 25 years or so out on that one. If its got a 5.4L it should have a 9.75 in it. If you've got a 4.6L or 4.2L it should be an 8.8. The 10.25 I think was only used with the 7700lb towing package. Its been awhile since I looked at the 04+ F150s, but I think thats still correct.


If you have any question just look at the tag on the freakin diff. I'm guessing you wouldn't try ordering parts without buying the truck first, or at least I would hope you wouldn't. There should be 2 tags held on by the diff cover bolts. One specifies the oil type, the other states the gear ratio, diff type, and axle ID. If all that fails you then you can take your axle code on the door sticker and if you look it up on the charts that are floating all over the internet you can see what you've got.
