Another muddin' trip

Well, I went again and had a great time. Deepest I took my truck ever and still crawled out in 4 hi. Fun times. A couple pics...

Pullin out a lifted jeep Rubicon

A little deep for me, but managed to get out.

Pretty impressive, I thought when you stopped midway through the mud hole...you were done.

Thankfully I didn't get stuck. The guys I was with all had "small" vehicles and wasn't sure if any of them would be able to pull out my truck. There were some other people around that I would have asked if that time had come though. I try EVERYTHING in 2wd first, hence the reason I stopped in the middle. The jeep in front was in 4wd the entire time. Once I hit the middle and stopped moving I dropped it into 4 low and crawled out. LOVE MY TOYO MT's. Now time to get some of the fluids changed. Just spent about 6 hours washing it up and there's still mud in the undercarriage. Oh well.

sweet ! Looks like some good times ! You definately got a pair !

One tip, if I may ?, would be to NOT always start in 2wd. I have seen plenty of people do that, get into a hairy situation, stop, click in 4wd, then are stuck. Where as momentum alone would of probably had them out if they had started in 4. Just a friendly tip from a fellow wheeler. I can't say i don't do that, its sweet taking it through something in 2wd when your buddy NEEDED 4x4.

I'm relatively new at wheelin so suggestions are nice. I always thought that if I do it in 2 hi (it's fun to see how far I can get with just 2wd anyhow), then if I do get stuck I've got the 4wd to help me out. If I do it in 4wd and get stuck, I've got no where to go now. When it starts to get a little deep or rough, I've used 4 hi on the fly and kept my momentum to get out. THe only thing is that it makes a really loud noise when the front wheels get locked in on 4 hi. But it works.
03fx4F150 I've been to lakeland quite a bit, but don't know of anything else right there. Lakeland motor sports is opening up their new park in Polk City (may be what you are thinking of) and it's about 600 acres of trails, mud, and campground. I'm going to try to make it out there on June 28th with my off-roading group. Looks good from the flyers they sent out and what little info they gave me.

I'm hoping that this truck is built for this sort of abuse. I do try to take care of it as much as possible though (hard to say when I have a pic of my truck in 4 ft of water). I wash and wax it often and make sure 99% of the mud is off my truck. I'm getting my fluids changed soon and for the most part am pretty good to her (as she is to me). I LOVE going 4 wheelin and if I could afford an atv I would, but until then this truck is going to do. One of my pins did get knocked loose from the tailgate handle so that was an easy free repair (KNOCK ON WOOD). My check engine light did come on today though, and after taking it it to autozone they said somehting about the emmisions which I'll ahve to figure out.
