Need advice choosing auxiliary lighting

I've decided which light bar to buy, but I'm not sure on which lights are the best for what I'm looking for. The light bar of choice is the simple straight bar that sits between the upper part of the bumber and along the lower edge of the grill. My plan is to mount 4 round lights here (2 long range driving lights in the center and on the outer edges, 2 fog lights that have a wide angle so I can see the deer on the side of the road when I drive to work at 1230am. Is there a huge difference between the 6 to 6 1/2 to 8 inch varieties? I want a great quality light that really lights up the road and shoulders. I've looked at several KC lights in all sizes but want to hear real world experience from what you all have used and if possible, where is the cheapest place to get them. Thanks in advance.

Ted

I've been very pleased with my KC's. Got mine very cheap from truckperformance.com. prices have gone up a tad since I bought mine but still right at $100/pair for daylighters. very very clean install. no wires showing from the switch to the dash for example.

I can't speak however about other lights. Only ones I've ever ran were KC's

I occationaly will use the two on my grill guard late at night on the backroads here. They're strong enough that they'll light the road as far as I'd normally be able to see. Only use the top lights off road. For highway use two are plenty. Although I could see the benifit of having the two floods for the ditches. Make sure the "flood" and "fog" are synonomous.

backup lights too

What kit or parts would one use to mount backup lights underneath the rear of truck? I need more rear lighting in those sticky off road situations. I would need them wired so they come on whem I shift into reverse.

I mounted some small cheap fog lights under bumper and ran wiring to batter with fuse and back under dash. It is manually switched on inside cab. You can do the same just tap the reverse but then lights will only come on when in reverse.

I used hella 500 and kc slimlights upfront and converted them to HID - bright.

You can buy a back-up light kit from KC or PIAA. As far as mounting, there should be some tabs in your bumper and that is where I mounted mine.

x2

I have 4 KCs on my bull bar and for the money they are unbeatable. I have two flood lights and two long rangers plus the reverse lights I mentioned earlier.
