What to look for when buying a used winch?

Might be buying a 9000 xd warn its 8 to 10 years old new line fairlead, cover and remote.

Just wondering what to look for when I go look at it?

check that its still working, isnt packed with rust, mud, water, etc. , and then see what condition the line is in. Im assuming its got the standard steel cable so see if its frayed anywhere or rusted or has any weak spots.
