2013 OEM Navigation Question
My 2013 F150 with factory navigation acts like I am near but not on the same roads I travel all the time. As a result, it is always telling me to turn to the road I'm on and not very useful. What's up? I should not need an update just to travel unchanged roads.

Go onto Sync my ride and log in to your account or create one if you don't have one. There is a tool you can down load that will check if there is an update available. Follow the instructions and update if needed. On the 13's they should have the My Ford Touch system and the latest version is 3.80
The problem you described is exactly what my wifes did in her 13 escape. Ford ended up replacing the A.P.I.M. (accessory protocol interface module) that's what controls or runs the entire MFT system. The SD card just has the map data, nothing else.
Make sure you are running the latest software (version 3.80) and if the problem still exists, take it too ford and get it fixed. Ford has extended the warranty on the APIM on all My Ford Touch equipped vehicles and you may still be covered.
FSA Title: SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE (APIM)
Field Service Action Number: 12M02
BTW you may need an updated SD card as well, depending on what version your system is running. The A4 card is compatible with 3.51, 3.62, and 3.80 If you have an older version with an A2 or A3 card you will need a newer one. Dig around on the sync my ride site and there is a link where ford will send the correct updated SD card to you for free, but only if you have a version less than A4. Ford will only give you a free SD card if your system is lower than 3.51, when ford updated the software, it required new map data. After 3.51, they were just bug fixes, so an updated sd card is not required. I just checked and the latest version is A7 for US and Canada, and B7 for US and Mexico.
