Best Buy is selling the Garmin 50LM for not much over $100. That's a 5 inch screen and free lifetime map updates. I used mine yesterday and it works great. I bought mine at Target last Christmas for $129.
I also have updated the maps twice since I bought it. It comes with a short USB cord and is a plug and play process.

I'm not a computer literate type person. I'm a Brontasourus. What do you mean when you say "4p" going to a "10p"? I've always disliked the nav system in mine. It never takes the route "I think" it should take. Most the time it will take strange routes. For instance, I went to my uncles in jersey yesterday for a visit. From me it's a pretty direct route. Basicly from Delaware, rt 1 north to I95 to I495, back onto I95 at PA, past Philly airport to Jersey, to the exit where he lives in Laweranceville, New Jersey. Then just a couple of turns and he's about 5 minutes from the freeway. Wether I tried fastest or shortest, changed preferances, the darn thing had me taken the Delaware Memorial bridge into jersey, then god knows where. Tried a few other "preferances" and then it had me taken some strange side streets...... I hate this thing. It doesn't memorize previous routes, just previous destinations and way points. Instead of having to go back and hitting all the way points, I would like the option of retaining a full previous route that I can just "hit" as a memory. And it never takes the same route twice, even if I delete and retry, it gets weirder and stranger on the routes it picks. Even thou I usually know my way, I like to compare distances, travel times, check traffic, and enjoy my ride. Not worry if I'm gonna get lost on a side street. I know that it can be updated, but I'm asumeing that's for routes? Anyway, sorry for rambling. Just wanted to find out about this 4p to 10p stuff and if it would help the situation. Thanks.......

You'll need to get a program (like Nero) to burn the files to a dvd-r disc. Get the 8gig disks, when burned updated maps for my Avic D3 the 4 gig were to small. Then like said find a clean file to downloadable torrent, kick *** torrents or the pirate bay are still working. Should come with a read me file with instructions.

Use a DVD(+)(-)R DL(double layer)= 8.5Gigs
A DVD+R DL reportedly works.
Check for viruses before opening any 9P files.
