Camera and harness numbers are functional now. Bubba it depends on how you are wiring this camera if you need the other harness. If you are staying with the full factory setup then you should probably get it. If you are running the wires to an aftermarket screen then you can probably get away with making your own wiring.

I installed the new 08 handle with a Ebay camera and it works great. You do have to drill out the hole a little bigger to fit but it's easy with a sheet metal multibit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160227035880. The camera is $ 24.00

I would up load pics but for some reason or another the site is giving me some error page when I try and do so. i can always email pics if you would like.

I plan on wiring the camera to a AViC-D3 like the other guy on here. Just need to get wiring up to the head unit then convert to RCA. Does the camera come with 5m of wiring? or is there a harness that I can get?

The camera ends up hooking into the underbody harness to get from the back of the truck to the front. If you follow the other guys instructions you should be ok.

Wasn't sure if the 04-06 models had the pre-wiring in the harness. Do I need the tailgate harness, then from there, tap into the underbody harness?

Ronix,

on your 05, how did you get the camera feed up to your headunit? Did you run a RCA cable back to your tailgate?

Ed,

Do you carry a 6 pin waterproof connector that will mate up with the connector from the camera?

Sorry Bubba I forgot you were retroing on to an older truck. Take a look at this picture. The harnesses that are involved are the 14A411 13A409 13A576 14405 14434 and the wires may run through a few others where it doesn't specify because they all come pre-wired in 08. I think once you get out of the tailgate you might be best off running your own wire.

and here is the wiring connector at the camera

I ran a single pair audio cable from the tailgate down through the frame and up through the firewall in to the cab. I then saudered a RCA plug on each end to plug in to the camera and the video in on the deck itself.

Tasca,

I think I figured it out from your wiring diagram. Looks like I can connect the cam to 14A411, then down to 13A576. That way I can have a quick disconnect if I ever need to remove the tailgate. Do you know how long harness 13A576 is? What is harness 13A409? Is it 12V power from the rear tail lights? Do I need this harness if I am running my own 12V source?

Thanks,
Bubba
