Any local shops?

Anyone know a local shop or a place here in VA that can remove two of the cats off my 98? I called one place but they said they can't due to some VA standard? I have a SC registered truck. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

You're most likely going to have to find a shop to do it off the record or do it yourself. Shops can be fine a TON of cash if they're caught removing cats. 99% of the places you find won't risk it for such a small amount of money. Your best bet is to go get a sawzall or something similar and cut them out yourself, then either gut them or replace them with piping.

Yeah I agree with NoLongerJeepin, I couldnt find a place to replace my mufflers when I didnt have any cats on my truck. They would get it in the air, look it over, then lower right back down when they saw there was no cats on it. I ended up putting hi-flow cats on it, which I actually like better now than before with no cats.

I agree. Only one of those unreliable dives will do the work for you. Better off doing it yourself (with someone's help that has the tools) or replacing it with highflow cats at a legit place. i didn't replace mine yet, but thinking of getting it done soon.

I have a friend who usually makes all my exhausts that would probably do them. He doesn't do it for a living or anything just likes making things loud and does a good job at it . He did the true duals with one cat removed on my old screw.

If someone does know a shop that will do it please dont post that info. A simple PM to the OP will do the trick. No telling who is on these forums.
