The trimming up front was necessary because of the offset I have in addition to the fact that I have TRUE 35" tires. Most tires say they are 35's but they are really 34's or 34 1/2's. The offset on my wheels is +12. Stock is something like +44. I tried this offset because of all the problems peole have said they have with the stock offset. With the +44 offset you end up having rubbing issues on the inner suspension and steering components. I still have a small amount of rubbing at a certain turning point but it is very minor. I think the 1.5" AAL will fix that when i put it on next week by rotating the wheel wells backward and up slightly. Think about the pivot point being the front axle. If you lift the rear suspension it actually cause the front wheel well to move slightly up and back too. Check back with me and I'll let you know how it works out. I think your 2 1/2" kit would give you enough clearance for my wheels and tires though. It would however put the front end higher than the back end. I measured my wheel wells before and after the leveling kit. The front was exactly 2" lower than the back and with my 2" kit they are dead even now. Even though the tape measure doesn't lie, it looks like my truck is higher in the front and I don't like it. Especially considering that is with nothing in the bed. The AAL will cure that for sure. Just to give you a heads up, the trimming I did was in 3 spots. The lower front valance corner, the rear inner fender and the part of the OEM fender flare that protrudes inside the rear of the front fender. Hope all this helps you in your ventures. Let me know if I can drop anymore knowledge on you.

hey tlt008 I was looking at pics and your setup caught my eye. I have a 2.5" leveling kit and I was wondering how your rim and tire combo are working out? do u have much rubbing? it looks like u did some trimming up front, was that a precautionary thing or did u have substantial rubbing that made it necessary?

hey, I have 325 60R 18 Nitto Terra Grapplers, which is a 33x13-18, on 18x9 Eagle Alloy series 178 wheels, with 5'' Backspacing. I have a 2.5'' Autospring leveling kit with a 1.5'' Autospring Add a Leaf in the back. Thanks, I am a big fan of how it looks, I saw someone with the same combo on here and I fell in love. The Leveling kit and 33's are a cheap and easy way to make your truck look awesome. The tires stuck out 2'' beyond the side of my truck before I added my Bushwacker pocket flares. They would stick out about 1.5'' beyond yours since the FX4's have factory flares. If you have any more questions let me know, I am glad to help.
