Sorry I didn't reply earlier - misplaced your message. I just started The Chase recently too. Need to get back to it. Agree I was slow to take to the non-Dirk Pitt books. Used to read everyone as soon as they came out but I've slowed way down. Having to wear reading glasses did that I guess.

Was disappointed with movie Sahara - while a fun flick I just didn't buy MM as Dirk Pitt and especially thought the guy playing Al Giordino was a real stretch. A shame cause many of the novels might make great movies.

Titanic was my first many yrs ago. I just picked up "The chase" Not a Pitt novel but looks good so far. I really couldn't get into the other books without Pitt but I'll see how it goes
