Thanks for the congrats, it's a life altering event. I totally see my whole life, my reason for being in a whole new light. She's a little over 2 months old now and getting bigger everday. Yeah my truck has been on a stand still also, since Abby and now to add to the whole thing my wife got a great job in El Paso, so now we having to move AGAIN from Las Cruces, NM back to El Paso...I HATE MOVING! HA! So taking all things into consideration my truck has officially taken a backseat to everything else. Sorry to hear about not being able to get your 08 F250, that sucks, but let me ask you this what would you do with the Tonka? I'm guessing you'd keep em both right? Reading about your school trouble only reminds me how happy I am to be done with that mess. Thank God college football season started up again, I hate to say this but we may not be friends after Sep 19th.....UT vs TTU...haha HOOK EM!!!!!! Well brotha, I best get going, but it's always good talking to you and goodluck with TX A&M. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the familia and my truck. Take it easy.
Congrats on baby Abigail!!! It must feel great to finally have the baby in y'alls hands! I bet she is just a great bundle of joy, I'm happy for you guys! Tonka is at a stalemate, no modifications for the last several months, unfortunately I have just been saving, saving, saving the money. I was looking to get an 08 F250, but ultimately decided I couldn't afford it in the long run, especially still being in school. I'm also working working working as well, school starts back monday though. I tried some business stuff at Tech this summer and ultimately found I disliked the school of business. So... Now Its on to Texas ATM, for the degree, nothing else cause we all know ATM football sucks! I want the Construction Science degree from ATM, but will still root for TTU football! Keep me up to date on the truck and the family, and if your ever in AMA i'm still here at West Texas ATM till TX ATM lets me in (hopefully january so I can get it over with!). I think you have my email, it should still be the same MattLaw11@gmail.com
Hey Matt, how have you been? It's been a wicked long time. How's the Tonka doing these days? Things on my end are good. My wife and I had our baby going on 2 months ago, girl, Abigail. Other than that, not much else...work and more work and not to mention baby business. Well I just wanted to let you know she arrived, I remember you asking about her. Take care brotha.
Hey also how's school, you better not of ended up going to A&M. HA!
Well my to be quiet honest my truck has taken a bit of a back seat due to our new coming baby. Me and the wifey are trying to get a nest egg going so there goes my truck fund, but maybe just maybe we can free up some cash considering I got a promotion at work. I honestly figured your King shocks would of cost more than that, I looked them up at their website and they were expensive. The Camburg arms aren't too bad, about 700 out the door is decent. I called Rize the other day and requested a catalog, I also asked Phil when they would being distribution of the traction bars. He told me they started production this past month and should have sets completed and ready for distro next month to a month and a half. The price he told me they are going to run about 1100-1000. Well brotha I can't wait to see the pics of the latest upgrades. Hit me up when you get them up or if you want send them to my email, the one we were using earlier. Later brotha.
Hey Sergio,
I did finally get the Kings, received them back in November around the same time i started a new job so im just getting to install them this week. Cost was $1550 from downsouthmotorsports.com, should have pics up Saturday. The Camburgs ran $620 shipped to me direct from Camburg. I had them powdercoated to match the rize lift for about 40 bucks, that included blasting the camburg powdercoat off. The Camburgs had a pretty good effect on the handling, especially the bumpsteer which is much less noticeable now. Ride also feels much smoother compared to a regular balljoint control arm. Im pretty stoked about the rize rear traction bars, I already placed an order through the offroad shop i use, so i should get one of the first few sets made. Hows your truck coming? I have not seen you around here much lately, of course i myself have not been around as much... lol
Its been a while brotha, and your truck has come gotten some upgrades since we last spoke. Finally got the Kings? How much were they? Pics? Also I have to say I'm liking your Camburg upper control arm set up, details, pricing, place of purchase, paint? I also saw that Rize is finally putting out the rear traction bars NICE!! I'll have to take a look at those when they start distribution. Anyways man hit me back when you can later.
Hey I forgot to ask you about your gears? I noticed you are running 4.88 Yukons...how are they working out for you? Who did the install? Did they "improve" your MPGs? Did you have to do any other sort of modifications for proper fit? How much did they cost out the door? Lastly did you also get a tunner? If so what did you get?
1. The rear end of my truck sits a little low and I want to correct that. I was thinking of adding an add-a-leaf to it, maybe an 1in or 1.5in. I wouldn't mind if the truck sat a little high in the rear, but ultimately I want it level. What do you recommend?
2. I don't do too much off-roading, but I want a set a shocks that will last me a while. Everyone hear recommends the Bilsteins 5100s are they worth it? Mind you this isn't a priority buy for me.
3. I was thinking of going to 4.88 gears in both the front and rear along with the Xcal3 tuner you suggested. Can I re-calibrate my computer for the new gears with the Xcal3 tuner or do I have to go back to the shop for that, then tune after everything is completed?
4. Finally, have you or anyone you know heard anything about the Fitch fuel catalyst? I read in a few magazines that it helps with MPGs, something like 2-3 MPG more. Any info on if this is worth investing in?
They come matte black, I had them prepped/painted/cleared for $75 per flare at a local bodyshop. Install was a breeze with an extra set of hands, Id imagine doing it by yourself would be near impossible... lol
