    Ryan,
How are you? Are you back yet? Any update on the '53? If you are home have you installed the wheels? I don't see any new images. As for me, I just got back from a road trip from Washington border to Northern Cali investigating old ship wrecks.

I know- I know... I have a long list of current and future excuses if you want to hear them. I Will Happen - just a matter of time, opportunity, and cash all merging in the same space to make a critical mass. Maybe this winter.
Venice, huh? I've been there. It was an interesting place. Lots of history. I also spent some time in Verona and Lago De Garda. GO THERE! The little towns around the lake are very enjoyable. I'd like to take my wife there someday. Northern Italy is beautlful.
    Home soon.

    Ryan,
I can't believe you have not installed the wheels yet. I'm glad to hear everything is going great for you and yours. You must send me some picture of the '53 when it is finished. My truck just turned 12,000 miles. It just shows that when I have less than 1/2 miles to work and walking is nicer when we have good weather I don't put a lot of miles on her.

I don't know about another road trip in the near future and that is because I am planing on a trip to Venice, Italy next spring. I have always wanted to visit that glorious city and if I don't do it now I probably will never do it. I'm turning into a regular globe trotter.

    Hey John...
... yeah, I know... but I have an excuse being over the water again and Fefay in storage. All doing fine, though. I plan to mount your new rims the next time I buy new tires, but since your tires are wearing very well, that may be a while, too. In the meantime, I plan on a few more adventures when I get home. I'm starting the resto on my '53 Chevy which will require Fefay to flat-tow her over the pass this winter to my cousin's shop, and then frequent Over-the-Pass trips after that to work on her. Gotta get a Snow workout this winter, that is for sure.
How is BRO? Hope to see you two next August as we pass through for the annual River Trip.
    Be Well!!!

    RyB

p.s. Retiring very soon after I return and looking for work. Any teaching or admin jobs opening up in your neck of the woods?

Ha ha! Yeah, I know - I know... it took a while. Babs gave me the business about not having the wheels mounted yet, too.
Will do soon, and post photos when I do.
Have fun on the Road Trip. I may take a little one as well soon to N. Cali or Bend... or both.

    Ryan,
It's good to hear from you. Since it has only taken you 25 years to install your CAI and TBS, how long will it take to put on the new wheels??? All is fine with me, plus I'm planing another trip. Post some images when you get a chance... Keep an even keel.

    Later, John

FINALLY!!! Babs came up from PDX a couple weeks ago and helped me install the CAI and ThrottleBody Spacer.
My initial feedback is that the 'increased noise' under the hood at idle is insignificant, and while under load, is more of a 'different’ noise than it is a ‘louder’ noise. I like it!
As for power, I can only say how it feels, since I have no objective measures such as a dyno or 0-60 baseline to compare from. I do notice that it is quicker from a standing start and requires less of a throttle setting to accelerate or hold speed. Makes sense, I guess. It feels more powerful under load.
As for fuel economy, I’ve done two fuelings now, and have already noticed a consistent 0.4 mpg improvement while maintaining my normal driving habits and techniques (which is to spare the horse until those rare times it in necessary to whip the horse). I’ve had a few spirited accelerations just for the fun of it, but not enough to through-off my fuel economy to any great measure. Even if I did, it can only improve the trend that I am seeing.
Time will tell if it was worth it, but the install was easy (two beers), and it does add a certain ‘fun factor’ to Fefay.
Hope you and BRO are doing well.

    Hey JD-
On Leave and heading down the Coast. Gonna take Fefay out on the Dunes and shake her out. Rogue next week.
Are we still good for picking up the Wheels on Sunday 29 Aug as we pass through town? I'll be with Otter and pulling the 'Pride-n-Joy'.
