Frontiersman, Thanks for the comments. I have seen others with the inside of the rear wheelwells painted. I really would like to get to that. We have had such crappy weather here this summer, that my projects are getting backed up. Oh well, eventually.

The EM field does not make my truck glow in the dark... It just makes me glow in the dark and shuts down all communication within a quarter mile radius...

Thanks man... Heavily recommend this setup. Has a nice growl, but quiets right down in the cab. I will say tho, where you are in snow and possibly salt frequently from what it appears, spend the extra and get stainless piping too.. it's very worth it. I didn't need it for now, but after college I will be :D

You got that right. The real story was that I didn't even think I was even going to buy a new truck. After searching on line and seeing the prices I thought it was out of the question. I had an all day meeting at the college on a Friday and since I was in town I thought I would take a look. The rest is history.

By the way is your R & R over? If it is I sure hope you had a great time... I'm certain you must have...

    Hey Ryan,

Yes, my truck did come without carpet. Remember, I bought Big Red in February of '08. It's an '07. It was one of two '07s left on the lot, since they were getting rid of the older inventory I received $12,000 off the MSRP. At first I thought I would miss the carpet, I didn't have much of a choice if I wanted this deal, after a while I am so glad that the carpet was not part of my rig. With all of the rain, mud, snow, and dust that I could track in my truck it is much easier to keep clean. In my old truck mud turning to dust was a constant battle even with mats. Here's another feature of the rubber/plastic floor covering, when installing the crossovers for the component speakers in the doors we just used velcro under the seats, therefore avoiding drilling into the floor and creating an access point for rust. As for mounting a fire extinguisher, look into those low level tool boxes that ride below the bed rails and won't interfere with your cover. That's where I keep mine, there not to expensive so I replace them once a year just to be sure it's in good condition.

By the way "Big Red" is not an FX4, she's a Limited Edition STX Off Road model with a 4.6HO engine. They did not make very many of these 3v 4.6s until the end of the model year. Now this engine is a build option. I was lucky it was still available.

Hey again, its a Ranch Hand. I got it in El Paso I think for around 450. I just did a mod to it and removed some wire mesh in the middle, mostly to show off the grille.

PNW?? If I go I'll be trying to go up to Sumas, WA. I work with Border Patrol and thats the station I would prefer. Spokane is also an option. I also have two friends that are trying to go up and work for Gresham PD in Oregon. All is still up in the air but Im pretty excited about it. Youve got some beautiful country up there in AK, but I'm not sure I could hang with 25 below and the sun only going partially up.
