You'll need to check your Radio part number:
"Turn ignition key ""ON"".
Press the AM/FM button on the radio.
Simultaneously press and hold the 3 and 6 preset buttons on your radio for 1-2 seconds (speaker test).
Press the preset 6 button within 5 seconds (Radio Config)
Press the tune up button (^)
Record the radio part number software level; (you will need to write the part number down).
Turn the radio ""OFF"" and then ""ON"" again by pushing the volume knob twice. (Ignition ""OFF"" is NOT the same)."
Based on your description, I wouldn't be surprised if your radio won't work with the Brandmotion iPod adapter. If the radio says that it is a:
Visteon GAP AM/FM 4L3T-18K810-HC NO SAT
it is incompatible. Any 18K810 isn't going to work because it doesn't use the Ford CAN bus protocol. A radio swap will work to get iPod capability. I'd recommend a 2006 radio for the best results. Contact Brandmotion directly for more information.
