Welcome to the site... As for your question about handling with 22" wheels and tires, here's is what you might think about. It appears that you have a two wheel drive truck maybe an FX2 by the front styling. Your truck looks great for a street machine. On the other hand if you want a better ride a wheels and tire change is a must. Extreme low profile tires work best on smooth straight roads. A tire with a profile of 70 or 60 will give more flex and the ride you are looking for plus it will corner better.

I have a 4x4 and have wheels and tires that off road conditions dictate in the Oregon Cascades. Since I do travel on logging roads it was a must. Choose wisely, an 18 inch wheel with the proper width and backspacing will look great on your rig.

I'm not familiar with Hempstead, TX, so I do not know the environment or weather conditions which may influence your choice. A/T, M/T, or High Speed tires, there's quite a choice.
