    I would actually recommend you have a shop paint it because mine is chipped to hell and looks awful. I would use maybe 100 grit on the chrome. I used 200, and I used 1000 between sandings. But either clear wrap it with that 3m stuff or have a shop paint it so it lasts.

    hey when you painted your Roush grill, what grit paper did you use for everything? including stripping chrome paint, roughening up surface, sanding coats, etc.. my grill will be here soon and i need to know then steps necessary to do this right. also, would you recommend Krylon satin black or gloss?

    Right after you sand the hell out of the grill, hit it with promoter. Then paint, yes Krylon fushion works well.

    when in the process of painting would you use the promoter?
    and would you recommend Krylon? or sumthin else..

    well my grill chipped, and it still is chipping, every other week I find a new chrome spot lol. I did not use any plastic adhesion promoter, make sure you do when you paint yours. Heres my thread.

    so this winter i plan on buyin the roush grill on ebay and paintin it black like you did. i was just wonderin if you have had any problems with your paint?
    what brands and method did you use? and what do you recommend? i wanna try and do this one time and one time only

    thanks man. but i already have one on my truck i was lookin to add one to it and go true dual. if you decide you wanna split them up hit me up and ill see if i have the money at the time. again thanks for the offer
