Try a tire calculator and it'll tell you the difference in size and ou can multiply and it'll tell you man. How long have you had your replacement on?
-
i need to def do some research on gears vs a tune or maybe both. don't really wanna dump too much money on stuff. as for the mileage, that wimpy 13 is corrected...i think. i add 10% of my odometer to get a total and then divide by gas. i think that's right?
-
Lol oh okay, I'm just curious I'ma go when I get back in town and ask my truck guy what he thinks if I'll have problems or anything.. Have you ever gotten a tune for your truck? That'd help you a lot, you're getting beter gas mileage than you think you have to add the % difference from stock to what ur running then add that on. I mean like stopping and stuff lol

you bet man. hmm... not sure on the struts, haven't really checked em but i doubt it would hurt em really considering the amount of weight it adds is probably less than 125-150. i have a v6 which also weighs less than the 8 so i don't know how to factor that. as far as mileage, its hard to say, i dont recall my mileage before. what's killing me is the 32.5 inch tires up from 29.5. i need gears or something, i only get like 13 to the gallon. breaking? never put it to the test, but i havent hit anyone yet! knock on wood...

Oh dang man thanks a lot. Have you noticed any wear and tear on the coil/strut? Any problems breaking or gas mileage loss?
-
i'm not sure exactly how much it weighs, but when i talked to the guy before installing it, he said it should weigh just a little more than adding a ranchhand style grillguard. this is because it replaces the bumper (which weighs i dont know what) and its not a full steel tube like you see on superduties. i would guess around 150-200 but thats pure guess. dont think it dropped the front down all that much. i'm really happy with it, the only thing is that the powder coat didnt hold up too well to the coastal sandblasting. but as you can see in my album, i repainted it with little time and money.

Thanks a load man. I'm trying to find what I can get, I can't seem to find many of the Ranchhands. How much does that replacement weigh?
-
hey boss, my front end is a frontier gear full replacement. it ran me about 450 due to a few scratches in the powder coat that the guy gave me a real deal on. krylon fixed that right up. normally runs about 750 or 8 i believe.
i also added some generic jeep looking tow hooks to the outer sides of the vertical push bars with a little help from my dewalt.
think the website is frontiergearusa.com but im not sure

What front replacement do you have?
