I guess I read wrong when you said your steering wheel is turned but it doesnt pull, I thought thats what you meant! now your saying it pulls! ok!
If your ball joint or t-rod was bad, the alignment shop should of noticed it and not performed the alignment. but whatever I thought I was helping,

    Sorry Bro! and good luck!

Sorry to upset you, I see this all the time because the rear is the #1 cause for the steering wheel to be turned, but most people dont understand it and continue to look at the wrong parts and then get frustrated! just trying to give you another place to look!

Just trying to help! sorry to inconvenience you.

Reason I asked is because the guys that chimed in on your post where not being very helpful an just giving bad opinions!

anyway I wanted to tell you what the problem most likley is!
    now think about it!
Its got to be in the rear from what you described! if your front alignment was nocked out your steering wheel would not be the first thing you would notice!

this happens alot with 70s and 80s chev trucks, the center bolt breaks and one side of the rear axle then it moves under tork or just over time! I dont believe your center pins broke as these fords have two, but it can move ever so slightly 1/8" 3/16" or so and thats all it takes, then that little bit will cause your axle to move forward usually on the passanger side! if this is the case with yours the passanger side will be forward more than the drivers side, the steering wheel will be turned to the left. is that correct?

ok check your Ubolts in the rear and look at everything to be in align from one side to the other side, like measure from the leaf spring bolt to the spring mounting pad, what happens is when you first install the lift you tighten everything down and if everything is not exactly tight enough it will move when applying tork like sliding around in a field like you said!

another way to see if you have this problem is have someone else drive your truck and you follow behind in another car and look to see if your truck is going slightly sideways! (dog leg)
If it is, this is your problem!

So how to fix it, simply (LOL) loosen the U bolts and adjust your axle to where is is supposed to be and retork Ubolts and again after 100 mi. then if steering is still wrong get a alignment!

    hope this helps!
If this doesnt make sense let me know and I will try clear it up!

It's not as hard as you think it is. But when they say 100% bolt on, that's a lie. You have to cut the sub frame to fit the 4wd differential. It's not very much, like a 4X3 square.

Advice: Be prepared to go to the hardware store a couple times and spend some money on one use items like a torque wrench and huge sockets. You can probably just take them back like I did the next day.

It took me a weekend. The front gets completely disassembled while the rear is simple and takes literally an hour.
