I actually just lifted it this weekend. It went great and I love it! Rides great.
Ill upload a couple pics to my album.

On a side note, I have to say that I really think (and others have said so) that it looks like its a 4" lift and just a leveling kit.

yea planet ford is 11k off right now on 09 screws. tomball ford is usually close. they have a sick murdered out 09 fx4 lifted right now. i paid 25k for my screw xlt 4x4 new back end of 07 from tomball. the big dealership that sells lifts is lonestar down 1-45 just passed the beltway towards downtown. from talking to those guys they are nice but haven't bought nothing from them. when ever your in town hit me up, we got truck meets for Texastruckscene on friday nights i sometimes go out to, or theres a good classic car show at champion forest and spring cypress saturday nights.

i would buy a truck you like and lift it yourself tho. you save ALOT. they charge out the ass for the lift wheels and tires. i think i saw like 10k last time i checked for a basic pro comp 20's and 35" tires. i paid $2100 for my BDS installed from cutten customs and $1550 for wheels tires. i was happy w/ the work and they used to be nice, seem to have more of an attitude lately but they do good work for good prices.

fx4 for life 79 i believe is selling his truck i think if your not looking for a brand new truck. its already lifted

Procomp makes one for the 2wd. I'm running the same lift on mine and have no complaints. Here is a link to the lifts that are made for the 2wd assuming that it's the 04-08 model. The only thing different on the 2wd will be the front knuckles are made different. There was a guy on here who was running the CST.

He bought the truck for 19k. Guess there was a reason why it was so cheap.

I'd be lying if I said I did. It'll probably depend alot on the driver and what you're going through. If it's nasty sloppy mud then you'll need the 4wd. If it's alot of water 2wd may be good. The water will clean out the tires.

I'd lift it with some 35" tires and and whatever size wheels you want. If the 2wd doesn't work out for you then sell it with just the lift and factory wheels and tires that way on the next truck you just need to buy the lift and you'll have already bought the rims and tires. You would only lose cost of the lift.

Sometime you just have to get what you can afford w/o putting urself in bedt. Do you want it for looks or actual offroading? I've never takin my truck offroad before so I pretty much spent 5k extra on nothing. I was like you, didn't want to hear the bs b/c of lifting a 2wd. There's a guy near me who bought a 2007 GMC 2WD and put the 7.5" Rought Country lift. Doesn't look any different than a 4WD.

Also I wanted to tell you about someone else who bought a used truck lifted. Got a neighbor who bought a 2007 Chevy that had 25k miles on it with 3" lift, 20's and 33's. Truck's loaded out. Has everything except Nav in the inside. Well he didn't even put 10k miles on it and had to change transmission and gears in the rear end. He did add another lift and has 37's, but he doesn't offroad the truck. Trans cost him 7k to fix and rear end was $300 for gears and had someone change them for free. Make sure if you buy something like this get it from a dealer with a warranty.

At least you're not driving a power Ranger like I was. lol I understand what your saying. I been through all that. I recently graduated college so I was able to buy something new. It's hard to say what kind of condition that truck is in. For 15k it seems he may have put it through some sh#t. Look on ebay and see what most of the vehicles are going for so you know whats the value. You could always find one on a used dealer lot for around 15k not lifted and start off slow. Get a leveling kit put on and whatever size wheel you want with 33's. When you have the extra cash get a 6" lift and put 35's.
