    Jim - at the risk of getting flamed : ) I am struggling with the "lock-up" and "slippage" terms. I thought once the to tranny shifted into 4th (OD) the converter was locked up (and that mendt, no more slipping) and would stay that way until conditions caused a need for a downshift. But, I guess that's not the case?

    Can you shed any light on this difficult (to me) concept?
