I went without custom tuning for awhile and hopefully I didn't do any damage. The truck seemed to like more air but I had my roush exhaust installed the same day so I'm not sure on gains with just the cai. I went with an xcal3 and had troyer write me some tunes. The intake did drone on the highway and with the custom tunes it went away. I would listen to the others to be safe and so you don't get any drone !

The sub sounds good for it being hooked up to the factory radio. I didn't realize how much I missed having some bass. The only thing that I don't like about it is that I don't have any control over the sub only. If there is a song playing with decent bass I turn up the bass but it puts more bass to the sub & to the speakers. I have upgraded the front to the polk db571 but not the rears. If you ever upgrade your factory speakers I would go with some dynamat. I didn't have the extra money at the time & now I wish I would have done at least the front speaker area

There was no cutting of the grill. The only hard part to me was trying to get the stock grill to pop out from the trim ring without braking the plastic. Overall from start to finish I think it took me about a little over an hour to get it done.
