I found a local shop to strip my stockers and have them chromed, cost me 60 bucks. It might be cheaper for you to just buy some 09 hooks from the dealer. The 09's look the same and are chromed from the factory.

Hey Mike how have you've been? Hows the truck runnin'? It is so nice not to see dirt snow and salt on it anymore. I just remembered that you got chrome tow hooks on your truck. Where did you get them, or did you get your old ones chromed? I think it looks great, and i'm running out of things to do to my truck :) Let me know, take care Al

Hey Mike how have you been? Remember we talked about how rough the rear of our truck rides? I think we both mentioned about maybe trying a set of OEM 2WD shocks in the rear. Well i just bought a used set for $40, and just installed them. They are at least 2" shorter in height, and seem easier to compress them together with my hands than the ones that are on there now. They fit fine, now it's on to a long weekend of driving to check them out. Later Al

I bought these rims from someone near you in OHIO off eBay, they were mint and only $300 US. I got them shipped to Buffalo at a friends place, went down and picked them up. As for the tires I took a look at my spare, and was told that is a perfect match height wise, so i bought a set of Michelins LTX's off a guy here, he had them on his Toyota. They are 275-65-18 or a 32" tires Mike.

What size tires are on the 18's. I thought the FX2's and 2wd lariats came with 265-60-18 which are a 30.5 tire. the FX4 18's came with 275-65-18 or a 32" tire. the FX4 20's have 275-55-20 which is also a 32

Well, I know the FX4 shocks are stiffer than regular 4x4 shocks and regular 4x4 shocks are stiffer than 2wd shocks,so going with a stock 2wd shock should be a lot smoother and softer than what I have now.
I also know that I don't bottom out now with fx4 shocks on and 3" lower in the back, so going with the shorter 2wd shocks can't hurt anything.
If you go with the belltech drop shocks, let me know how they ride. I'm on the fence between them and the OEM 2wd's, they are about the same price around here.

Don't i know it man, it looks like the box will bounce off the frame. I found some Belltech drop shocks for the rear for our trucks. They are for heights form 2" to a 5" drop item #8523. I gotta do something, the bouncing will lead to rattling ect. I can get them for $68 plus tax a piece through a performance shop. Will the 2wd shocks fool with the height in the back?

I'm still running the stock FX4 shocks and they ride kinda rough. I'm thinking about putting in a set of 2wd shocks in the rear, they're shorter and have a softer ride.

I wanted a 1" rake, it's very close. So my final numbers are 3" in the front, 4 and 1/2" in the rear. I think i need new springs all round, with 130,000 kms it seems to still a tad lower on the driver's side a bit. Hey Mike are you still using your factory rear shocks, or did you put in drop shocks? My rear end doesn't ride as nice as the front end, so i thought it might be the springs or shocks. It could be do to the previous owner hauling something heavy and needed that Add A Leaf.
