Factory Tech Shift Kit Rocks! Vid and Sound inside! Check it out!

Had my factory tech shift kit put in today. Here is a video wave

Video plus Sound
And a sound wave
Sound File

Keep in mind, this sound file is on an uphill which won't give as much spin as flat ground, we did a flat ground run on some fresh blacktop and I swear, the tires spun for 20 feet on the shift. You can here the tires above the custom exhaust and blower!

The thing I like about this kit is that it contains more than just a valve mod, it's a complete kit w/springs and everything you need. And replaces a lot of the parts, Greg (facory tech) can explain in more detail.

Second thing is that Greg is just an awesome guy, since I am local he did the job himself and was very detailed and explained everything that he was doing. He explained why you want more than just the valve mod. Cool thing was, Greg actually did part of the building of my tranny, he marks all the ones he does at the plant, and said mine was one of them. I feel very confident having this kit in my car since Greg really knows these trannies.

These kits are available through Sal at PSP, (also a great guy, he has spent a lot of time giving me info on the trucks).

Anyway, I should have some times this Friday at Norwalk for smackdown, i highly recommend everyone attending, you can't beat this track for traction, here's the link

Smackdown thread

BTW, rumor has it Factory Tech may have the kits available at Smackdown, stay tuned for details!

I was expecting you to bust second and go sideways in the video. Do Lightning's really shift under 4k rpm's?

hey beefcake, are you saying that with that set up, the tranny will not last as long? If so, what can you so to beef it up?

I recently purchased and installed the Factory Tech valve body on my F250. I got it from Sal at PSP. Great shifts!

Beefcake, in your kit is there any drilling (like the Transgo kits), or just a few swapping of springs and other misc. stuff?

Also, the truck has stalled three times in reverse since I put it in last Saturday. Does anyone know the cause of this? The fluid level is fine.

Thanks.
Bill

You should make a high quality video from 0-125+mph on the speedo. If not, someone should.

The shift kit you had installed, is it the valve body shown on PSP's site, or is it something totally different? Thanks. Truck sounds great, by the way!!!

beefcake,

Great video and sound file! I have to agree with RT on this one - there is definitely a hesitation at ~4600rpm in 2nd. Listen to the file yourself a few times - it's unmistakable. Maybe JL could answer this?
