I recent purchased a 1993 lightning with 123000. For the first couple weeks I rode around on the front tank only as I only did around town driving. Just last week I filled both tanks for a road trip and noticed something odd when i went to refill them. During the trip I didnt end up not needing the rear tank so I never selected it. Having run only on the front tank (or so I thought) I noticed far less fuel had been pulled from the front tank then expected (only about half). However the rear tank (never selected) was down about three gallons (the missing amount). How could this be? I have read about people having cross flow issues where the shuttle valve sticks open and refills the wrong tank with the returned fuel but I have never heard of fuel being pulled from an unselected tank. Any ideas will be a great help. Thanks!!!
