Thumbs down

A mustang that may actually be able to hang with a LS1 stock for stock, and for only 10-12K more than a Camaro? Whoo hoo what a deal! I guess I am one of the few who doesn't care what brand car it is as long as it looks good and goes fast. Flame on!

How much is the MSRP supposed to be? I'm sure a lot more than the Lightning.

I'm not sure what the price is either, but I would consider spending more money to buy the Cobra Terminator if it put out performance and handling numbers better than the f-bodies and in line with the Vette. I'm certain Ford could do this if they wanted to, and cheaper than the $45K + Vette.

I doubt a Z28 or T/A will even come close to the new terminator!

A 4.6 cobra motor with a eaton blower on top of it is going to be sickly fast! look at our trucks, these modular motors love blowers An estimated 400+hp and TRQ, hell yeah baby. Low 12's from the factory easy!

I think Mr. Z06 better count his cookies cause he's going to get a new a$$hole torn in the rearend when this Snake comes out

FORD POWER!

Think about it guys. The Mustang NEVER had to run with the F-bodies, just keep them in sight. With its better build quality the Mustang outsells the f-ers 3 to 1. I am glad that someone at Ford got tired of getting their butt kicked by them though. Proabably some exec. that got spanked on the street and said "ENOUGH !"

It will not be the standard 4V Cobra motor on the Terminator. Here is an clip from a blue oval news interview on the Terminator project:

BlueOvalNews: Back in July of 1999 we mentioned that the 4.6L 4V Cobra would be killed off. What's the status today?

Team Mustang member: The 4.6L 4V Cobra has been a great success for us, but everyone in and outside of Ford realize we need something more competitive. The supercharged '02 is not based on the 4.6L 4V engine though.

BlueOvalNews: So what are we talking about here? We know the 5.0L is not going to be introduced until 2003? What's the '03's JOB1 date?

Team Mustang member: The 2003 Mustang will be a very, very late program - we're on track for an October 2003 launch. In all reasonableness JOB1 dates change when we experience some degradation or stumbles in a program. No, we're not using the 4.6L 4V, 5.0L 4V or the 3.9L as a basis for the supercharged Mustang - it's a mystery motor. Let's leave it up to the imagination of Mustang enthusiasts.

BlueOvalNews: Are we taking about a 5.4L here?

Team Mustang member: No. We're not planning on a 5.4L Mustang or Cobra, especially a supercharged version. The transmission group is toying with the idea of a 5.4L production Mustang, so a program does exist but it's not something we're actively involved with. That's up to marketing, the engine and transmission divisions to send it downstream to us. The question of a 5.4L Mustang isn't at the discretion of Team Mustang - if it were than you'd have a Cobra KR (King of the Road) on the market.

Maybe fords going to put a set of the 3v heads on a 4.6 like there going to do with the L's.

There target is the Z06 so this things going to have to have allot of power, Thats what my dealer said anyway.

I better not even look at them tommorrow or else I know I'm going to want one and I can't have 3 vehicles!
