Good Lord, it's been a long time since I was here. See some familiar handles. Well, on my fourth Lightning, a 99 no snow/salt Michigan original one-owner with 20k miles and zero mods. I just cannot get these things out of my blood. I do think this is my last one. But, them damn four thread spooky spark plug heads sure have me wondering if I should have them replaced. Got this truck for way less than it was worth. Mod money, when I get around to it. Just pulled home my 2500 lb steel frame enclosed trailer and the Bolt took it like a champ.

The reason I'm here is I'm looking for a set of 02 or later rear leaf Lightning springs. If anyone has a tip, shoot me an email. I need to get them weaker leafs out and do the 2" drop so I can increase the bed load capacity.

snopromax@aol.com

Later Lightning friends

Hey guys I'm still around but haven't visited this site in a looong time. Some of you might remember me as the one who started the grill mod with the chrome molding. Guess what, I still have it on my truck...lol.

Just sold my trustworthy 2001 F150 SCAB, and bought a 2003 Lightning based on the great service and care that old F150 gave me. So far I am loving it, barring the addiction to buying things for it...

After 11 years with the 01 I decided I wanted something sportier, but I really didn't want to give up a pick-up truck because I haul my brother's, my own, and other motorcycles around every once in a while.

So while the Raptor is a nice truck, the Lightning has always been something that just spoke to me; that and instead of financing 50% of a Raptor, I was able to buy the Lightning outright.

So sort of a newbie here (on the L side)...

Been too long since I was here also... Old screen name was 99Lightning. @ the time I had a black 99 that I took to the 99 NMRA finals in bolwing green, and took 3rd open comp, completly stock! Life got to me, and I traded my L in mid 02 for a Ranger edge. My daughter was 1 1/2 @ the time. Fast forward to the present, I have been working @ a nearby dealer for a month, last friday, the tech working next to me says "they have a Lightning traded in", of course I start pounding for info he doesnt know. Go out to check the truck out, and start getting goosbumps. Same old cervinis hood as mine had, then I notice the center caps are painted black too, hmmm. Hard cover on back, check the interior, and it has a carbon fibre kit still around the inst cluster. So I tell him, hey this may be my old truck.... Sealed the deal by popping the hard cover and checking for bedrug, and carpet on bottom of hard cover.... Truck had 60k on it when I traded it in, has 125k on it now, and ALOT worse for wear.... Gonna take @ least 3k to get her back to "pre" trade shape, but, it's only $$$$$..... Trading this truck has been the BIGGGEST regret I've had in the past 10 yrs.... What are the odds of finding my truck @ a new job???? Great to see all the old names still on here.... For the "newbs", there is TONS of usfull info to be gleaned from these forums, and the members....

Glad to be back guys, it's been too damn long....

Plan on setting it up just like it was when she was traded. Chip, 6lb pully, new long tubes, ect....

Cool thing is, my daughter is old enough to enjoy it now...

Still have my '04 DSG. 145K on the clock and she still barks 'em shifting to 2nd and 3rd...

I have yet to replace anything besides brake pads and belts - hands down the most reliable and comfortable beast ever. WAY more comfy for a long drive than my Z-06.
