Joe Gibbs silverado 390-Hp/425-Tor

Do we have a little more competition now, beside the Dodge Ram SRT-10 truck.

"Anyone who drives one of our Joe Gibbs Performance Silverado's will be satisfied. It's really a fun truck to drive and to know you have that extra horsepower makes it even that much better," stated Gibbs.

The above named horsepower comes by way of a Gibbs-designed, Roots-type intercooled/supercharged engine producing 390 horsepower and 425 lbs. ft of torque, exhausting through a Gibbs stainless steel, cat-back exhaust. This all ads up to a 5.9-sec. zero-to-sixty time, and a 13.8 1/4 mile at 99.43 mph for the Silverado.

This is what I consider "real" competition. Price is supposed to be $34-35,000 and has auto trans. These are sold through select Chevy dealers and carry a GM warranty. 4 page write up in this months Truckin mag.

I'm not crazy about the looks though. From the pics, I don't see a factory boost gauge. The speedo pegs out at 120MPH too - what are they thinking

I friend of mine has one here in Hahira Ga. ran a 14.8 in the 1/4 first time he took it to the track. The impressive thing is they make 390hp and 425qt on only 5.5bls of boost. Intercooler system is setup just like ours.

I caught it on Spike TV today.
They claimed it would run the 1/4 mile in 14 sec.
Cost was 37K

The segment opened up stating "Truck guys...Tired of seeing the blue oval, well here an alternative"

I suppose they could squeeze more HP if pulleys and a performance program was installed... you think?

It is already "superchips tuned" so I don't know how much more there is to get out of it in the tune.

The guy here that has one said they come with a 5/50 B to B warranty instead of 3/36. They also said that changine the pulleys would not void the warranty I'll have to see how that works out. And yes they all come with a superchips programer. I must say it is clean but I agree with Rod they just look like a truck with big wheels and exhaust.

Is it me or do they have oval envy?
Why else would you make your badge oval shaped & stick it in same location as the boys you WISH you could smack down?
Even My GM buddys were mocking it at one of the chevy shows last year and tried to get them to let me get my L on the track LOL alls they would say is "It's for GM vehicles ONLY"
