I got back from Florida yesterday, and I was able to take my truck to work today. I gave it a good wash. We were slow at work, so I was able to clean the inside of it also. It was a mess. I feel a lot better about putting it away now. It was so nice to be able to drive the truck today. I almost forgot how nice it was. (I've been without it for about a month now)
If anyone is thinking of selling their truck...
Drive a 10 year old 4 cylender Escort around for a month,
Go on Vacation to Florida for a week and watch Mustangs peel out at EVERY red light, then go home and get your Lightning. If its clean, just looking at it should cure the crazy thoughts. If needed, take it for a ride. That should take care of all the thoughts of getting rid of it. Going without the truck for a few weeks, made me really appreciate it a lot. Its great to get it cleaned. I am now counting down the days till I can bring it back in the spring. Also I am contimplaiting the idea of Long tubes, and a Ported Eaton... That should help some of the time pass by hah?
Shane

i was just in Georgia. I had an hour lay over in Atlanta. Its a nice state. The weather wasnt that bad. I was there yesterday afternoon around 4 pm. I wish I could drive the L year round. The only advantage I can think of is I save a little on insurance for storing it for 3 months...(comp only vs full coverage) And I'll have a little better chance of getting through the 90 days court supervision from the tickets on my bike without the truck...

hey don't down it. My beater is a silver 1996 Ford escort wagon with the 1.9 in it. Sometimes when going to school i forget i'm not in the L and when merging on the 95 i nail it and it doesn't seem to pull like the L. lol

Although i can still beat LEEANN with it

Maybe i'll throw a turbo ans spray a 150 shot through it.

I do like how 15 bux lasts me 400 miles woot woot

Don't forget US 41 is open year around weather permitting. That means if the roads are clear and it's at least 20 degrees they should be open So that means mindshaft air and howling Eatons going for new best times..

Looks great Shane
Sleep tight Red Lighting

I learned a few things driving mine through the first winter,
#1 It don't drive in snow, ice, slush, or freezing rain, worth the schitt.
#2 The under carriage took on waaaaaaaaaay too much sand salt and rust.
#3 Vinnie made fun of me in every post my Motor was sooo dirty.
It took me days to get it back to it's current condition.

Then I bought a POS VW (4cyl), too slow, couldn't handle it,
I have no patience to wait that long getting up to crusing speed,
I gave it away for free.
Then I bought a Mint 89 Stang from the orig owner,
another 4cyl POS, but mint mint and it seemed peppy enough when I test drove it ??? Again I didn't have the patience waiting to get up to speed, I sold that to my Brother for what I paid.
Then I bought the POS Jeep I have now, 4.0 Straight Six,
much better getting up to speed

I'm sure there's a point here somewhere ????

Oh ya, the point is, since then, I only drive the Lightning
on Dry days, and on sand/salt free roads.
This did 3 wonderful things for me,
#1 It's Black, and now much much much easier to keep clean.
#2 It's keeping the mileage off, and the resale high.
And the most important, #3 When you get into it after not driving it a few days, it's like the first day magic is back, you truly appreciate it.
