Question for Gen 1 owners: Just how fast are 93-95 L's?

Random question: What kinda times do stock Gen 1 L's put down in the 1/4?

I came across the following test:

Motortrend Test of 95 L

But I know magazine tests can be a bit on the conservative side. Just how fast do your trucks go?

Also, I know the Gen 1 L's were rated at 245 hp, but I've heard it's more like 270hp. What kinda dyno numbers do these truck's make?

Thanks.

93 L

I had a 93 and the overall package was great but it was not a super 1/4 mile performer. I would say the 15 second time is about right for a stocker. I think the Windsor engine had pretty good potential as can be seen by what it does in Mustangs, but remember that was a heavy truck. I also think they could have picked a more responsive cam. I liked it and sometimes regret getting rid of it.

Ive seen them run around 14.9-15.2 stock. That was very respectable back in 95.That was where stock LT1s were at and those Lightnings were an awesome package. LOTS of fun not just speed.

Mid to low 15s stock. I have mine running mid 14s and there isnt all that much done to it.
Ive seen trucks go into the 10s and are still streetable.

15.3 stock here. A few basic bolt-ons, and I'm in 14.4's now. Throw on a Vortech and it'd hit high 12s, then onwards from there. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world (except maybe another Gen1)

Those are some impressive times. Any idea of what a stock Gen 1 would do on the dyno?

BTW, love the timeless look of your black L SlowSvt95. That's my favorite color on the Gen 1's!!!

I'm sure a 93-95 L will put down at least 200/300 on the dyno.
