Sound from wheels?

25,090 miles on my 01. When I am driving I hear a sound from the wheels like the brakes are still touching. And when I apply the brakes the sound increases as well until about 10mph when I hear a low rumble in the cab. The rotors have small hairline cracks but have been that way for a while. I did use them in a series of 3 hard stops before this happened. Could the calipers not be releasing all the way? I couldnt see any space between both rear calipers and their rotors, but the fronts have tons. Is it time for new rotors and pads or is it something more serious?

Sounds like you have completely burned through your pads and are now causing damage. I'd stop driving immediately and pull the wheels off for a looksee...

It stops the same, but I will check. If I burned the pads off, then what is the sound?

Did you check the pads?

If you burned through them, you are rubbing metal on metal. The sheer gripping force will keep braking, but you'll be chewing your rotors down. Enough and you won't be able to turn them...

Sounds to me like either the pads are metal to metal contact with the rotor or the rotors are warped... Take it apart and check it out
