how to replace headlight bulbs!

There are two black strap retainers that hold the lense assy in. If you look at the header panel behind the light, you'll see them. They bend to a 90 degree tab at the top. You need to pull the tab up so that the large holes in the strap allow the adjusters to go past them. Then the entire lense comes out the front and you can get to the bulbs.

Check out a post I made called Sylvania SilverStar Walkthrough. That will give you detailed steps to replacing headlight and fog light bulbs.

Once you get the headlights out following LightningTuner's instructions...remove the lightbulb by first disconnecting the plug to the light. Then simply unscrew the bulb out of the casing. Take your new bulbs and screw those puppies in. (CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULBS WITH YOUR FINGERS UNLESS YOU FEEL LIKE REPLACING THEM IN ANOTHER WEEK)
Hope this helps...if you have any other questions...you know where to find us!

thanks for all the help and replies. i found the tabs, but i can not get one of them to move at all. the other 3 slide up and down very easy. is it time for the adjuster? (big hammer). i'll spray some wd-40 on it and try again tomorrow. once again thanks. this is my first ford product, and i'm learning more every day off this board. later, jim.
