CRAP!!. Well I guess I will have my L paid off by then. Then I can save some $$ for the next one.

I wasn't planning on getting one until a year after they were out to work out the kinks.

Still wish we could contact Ford and tell them its crap.

A sad day indeed. Guess I need to start putting away for the upcoming cobra.

Sure this is bad news... but our L's stock for stock give the SRT a decent run for the buck. Since so many of us are mod'd anyways it's even lesser of an issue to keep up with Dodge.

The only thing I'll miss is the new interior... even though the new L is cool and I'd be one of the first in line.

It'll be interesting to see if this is true or not.

This is even worse than when my mom told me my dog "ran away" when I was 8 years old. Found out later that it just wasn't true.

I was hoping to be able to get one after the first year kinks were worked out too. I guess I will just buy a house instead and enjoy the tastey burnouts my '02 provides.

I sure miss that dog a lot.

I know this might sound like a stupid question....?

Does this mean our trucks will go up in value?

Since they are not talk's of another one for some time, do you think the demand will go up on the Gen 2's?

Maybe the bright Tim Skelton can shed some light on this and correct me if I'm wrong.

I say it's a ploy to sell the 04's and get them off the lots. Who wants to buy an 04 Lightning when the 05's or 06's are coming out next year? Time will tell. Ford has this market cornered, their not going to back out.

Didn't we all know that there were going to be no SVT vehicles in 2005? They were all due back out in 2006, but the Lightning wasn't listed in that bunch. I know for sure that the 4V, blown 5.4 will be in the 2006 Cobra... at least that is the latest dates Ford has for us. I would buy that car in an instant if it does not look as fugly as the new body 05 Mustang.

So you think they will design a complete new body for the cobra ??

IF they dont cancel the Cobra it will be built in the 05 Mustang platform with minor cosmetic changes just like every previous year ...

Huh?

So I guess the Mach I/Fastback of 1969/1970 is fugly? So, the body style presently, or past is better? I think the new body style is one of the best things they could have done. But then again, perhaps I am biased since I owned a 1970 Fastback Mustang, as well did my group of friends back in the day.

I think the new style doesn't look very good, but since I'm not in the market for one...

I love the new Mustang Retro Look. Their going back to their roots. But I also like the new Lightning Look.

I understand, but maybe they can come up with Cobra specific pieces that can even out the look of the car. I am just not a big fan of how the car flows from front to back. To me it looks like a retro front that was attached to the current rear style.
To me, I would have liked to have seen them come up with something new, with nothing retro about it. I believe that the retro design style is a bit overused when it comes to vehicles.
Ford has come out with some different designs lately that I don't really care for. I myself like what Cadillac is doing with their vehicle designs... that will probably be my next purchase.
