In that case I'm gonna buy the new cobra, or save and buy the new L in 2008...if it happens.

That's bull****. How are they gonna ditch the L? SVT is stupid. They went from covering the market, to just having the Cobra. Putting all your eggs in one basket isn't smart business.

I'm in the market for a Lightning. I've been looking around and the prices are decent on the used ones.

Maybe I should just by a GM.

So what it comes down to, is SVT was given some competition with the SRT and they quit? I know that's not true, but it appears that way.

Very Angry!!!!!

If it is true, then it definitely bodes well for the resale of our trucks!

...still sucks that they're waving the white flag to Dodge.

Hopefully it's just a rumor, but it's from a pretty credible source.

If that's true, I guess I'll be in line for a new Cobra when they come out...

or maybe it just gives me an excuse to hold on to the blue truck for a while longer?

The C6 Z06 may be a little more time, too, but at least GM is working hard to get it done. Ford just continues to drop the ball.

I've bought 4 SVT vehicles since their inception ('94 L, '96 Cobra, '99 L, '04 L). We consumers have proven that there is a market for these vehicles. Instead of spending the $$ and manpower to give us what we want, Ford would rather go off and build 3000 GT's at a price that is exhorbitant.

We've complained for years for Ford to build a 2-seater that can compete with the Vette. The GT doesn't count b/c its 3x the price.

Ford can just bite me on this one.

All I know, is that Ill be looking for a new performance truck in 2006. If Ford wont build one, then Ill buy one from someone who does.

At least the resale on my 03 should stay higher now...

I'm perfectly happy with my 02. And if they wanna build less in the future? That's ok with me.

Now it's so exclusive NOBODY will have one.

This is breaking SVT's promise, vision, and business case.

And for my .02 cents, this belongs in the Lightning area where
everyone can find it. It is after all, if true, the biggest news in
years.

Ford just finished losing another market share point this past
quarter. Now this ... Dayum ...

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought FORD was getting rid of the SVT badge and changing it over to "SV" or "ST" or something like that.

yeah I heard that through the "grapevine" about a week or so ago... I didn't want to say anything though and well read the sig..

I am convinced more and more each day that the average Lightning owner's IQ is about room temperature -- measured in Celcius.

The only thing that has kept me here as long as I have is the few people who actually understand the scientific method -- or at least can spell it But those bright shining stars of sanity are being drown out by the droning of the moronic masses.

What this board needs is a good old fashioned enema, purging the stupid and tasteless. Rude I can take, but the ignorance is becoming more than I can handle. But that won't happen. We are all too concerned about not hurting anyone's feelings (fewer subscribers means fewer ad hits, which means less SV $).

So let's all just kick back and enjoy the glow of brotherhood. No reason to let little things like truthfulness, intellectual honesty, reason -- or candor -- get in the way of a lovefest.
