How to Soften the seats?

I have an '05 KR that was bought used, and the previous owner didn't keep the seats as well as he should. I have cleaned & conditioned many times & they look pretty good, but how do I get them softer? My back seats are still soft like when they were new, but the front seats just seem dry/hard. Am I expecting too much to get the seats as soft as when they were new? Maybe that is part of the aging process, or maybe I just need to condition even more. Any ideas?

Have you tried the king ranch leather conditioner made by king ranch. I use it and i am very happy with the results feels buttery still, it seems to have a better softening property than lexol or other saddle products out there. Also with(clean hands) rub in with your hands well. In fairlly warm weather or in garage. Let dry, rub down excess (if any still remains) with soft cloth. It will be dark at first but will lighten up after it dries. i usually do this twice a year. Good luck.

I have used KR conditioner, leather CPR, Lexol, Saddle soap. I like the KR smell, but leather CPR makes the seats look better than anything else. Now, I am sure if you buy your truck new & you maintain the leather from the start with the KR conditioner it is fine, but when you have to bring back to life some abused leather it is a different story.

Well once you have conditioned them you may do it a 2nd time, these seats soak up the conditioner pretty good. I don't know if you can get them as soft as the backs because I'm in the same boat. I think its just part of the normal wear of the kr leather.

My seats are hard regardless and they are in great shape?? Guess I just don't like the seats very much.

i second the vote for leather cpr. ive tried them all and the cpr works best. i left my truck for three weeks this summer sitting in the sun without driving it. got in and the seats were hard. wiped them down with a hot terry towel and did the cpr. they arent the soft supple seats that you would find in a luxury car, but then they arent supposed to be, but they were softer feeling and more richer looking.

Hey guys it dosnt change the color any does it? I am going to order it today and try if it dosnt effect the color. Ive never heard of it so im anxious to try. Looked it up on internet seems like good stuff. Thanx for the info

My KR is a year old. I live in Texas, so therefore my trucks seats KNOW hot. They look and feel the same as the day I bought the truck. This weekend I am going to condition the seats for the fifth or sixth time since I purchased it.

My truck also sits in the driveway... my babies (motorcycles) and my wifes Expy sit in the garage. If your seats are hard and dried out, use the King Ranch Conditioner or CPR weekly. There is a British cat (Lenticular) who used to condition his leather with both. He even said he has been able to bring back some of his Rolls Royce seats back to life. These seats will love you back if you show them some love...

Keep at it, and make sure you give them a good rub down with a towel about 10-15 minutes after conditioning. It keeps the dreaded white haze away. One of the reasons I use KR conditioner, is the smell. Smells like the day I drove it off lot Keep conditioning, and KEEP US POSTED with the results. They will get better

No, it will not change the color. Wipe them down about 10-15 minutes after conditioning. If you dont, they WILL look hazy. Trust me... Wipe them down. KR conditioning works. Ya just gotta show the seats some love.

Oh yeah, order two bottles. That way, when ya meet some schmuck who is not showing his seats the love...educate him, and give your half used bottle away. I dont believe in Karma, but its good Karma

If Lenticular says CPR is good, then dammit, it is good. My truck has sat in the Texas sun all summer Because I condition them regularly, they NEVER dry out No issues, none. Condition regularly.

Shine, I think Lenny favors the KR Conditioner over Leather CPR. I believe RockPick likes the CPR better. (If I'm wrong, they'll jump all over me of course).

But the point here is: two "experts" seem to indorse these products, which is good enough for me too.
