New KR owner with just a quick question..

Hi everyone.. I just became a a F-150 KR Owner... I went from a Lexus IS350 to the KR... Yes I love to drink gas I guess. Naw.. I've always been a KR fan from the SD to the 150s... and with the market crash... what better time to buy!??

Anyway... After looking around for a few weeks.. I found a 2006... It was from a dealer and it did not come with the window sticker... anyway of obtaining that from the ford site or somewhere!?

What I'm really looking for is what size of tank came with it? I know I can wait a few days and go fill it up to find out.. but just curious if maybe a web site had a archive of windows stickers...

anyway... thanks for your help..

If you didn't get an owner's manual with your truck, you can get one here for free: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

I may be all wrong, but I think the tank capacity is in the owner's manual. My 2005 with the 5.5 bed is a 30 gallon tank by the way.

Welcome to the joys of caring for King Ranch leather!

- Jack

With it being a 2006, is it a short bed (5-1/2 foot) or long bed (6-1/2 foot)? That was the first year the 6-1/2 foot bed was available. Anyway, the short bed has a 30 gallon tank, and the long bed has a 27 gallon. The 35.7 gallon tank option was new in 2007, so I'm sure you don't have that capacity. Smoke

I have never heard of anyone getting a replacement window sticker. Really happy the PO saved his on mine.

I would just call the dealer with the Vin# they will tell you anything you need to know.

You can request a pdf version of the window sticker on this forum. You will have to register as a user to post the request but that is no problem as it just gives you a new Ford forum to read threads on. I used this site to track my wife's 2008 Mercury Sable Premier from the day that it was ordered to the day that it was delivered. Good luck! http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...p?showforum=80

I'm not that bad for asking questions... also.. I know its not a 30gal...

I'm able to find the options... 27, 30, 35.7.. but I'm not sure what my tank is.. its either 27 or 35.5 since its the 150"...

My owners manual shows the options of 27 or 35.7 being its a 150"...

When I picked the truck up.. it was full.. I've driven 430miles... and it still has a 1/4 of a tank left... so I'm not sure if I'm getting great MPG... or if the tank is the 35.7..

I'm no expert here, but with 430 miles on the ticker and 1/4 tank left, you probably have the 35.7 gallon. If you take 430 miles divided by 3, that would give you 143 miles per 1/4 tank, which yeilds 572 per tank. Take a bit of fluff off and lets say you get 530 miles per tank. That would mean at 33 gallons of fuel fill when empty (there is a buffer built in when the tank gauge shows empty - I'm guessing 3 gallons from experience), you would be getting about 16mpg, which is average. If you have the 27 gallon, you are getting remarkable mileage... about 22 - probably unlikely, but possible. You'll know on your next fill though!

I tracked my 2008 delivery on that site. Note that the site was so overwhelmed with old window sticker requests, they will no longer look up old window stickers. Viper Pilot (forum guy from Ford) posted early in May that he will no longer find old stickers after something like May 20th. You can try it, though... maybe one of the other mediators will repond. Read the forum rules first.

Well... I just filled it up... the low fuel light came on... and I put in a little over 32gals.. so I guess that would make it the 35.7 tank...
That was the good news for the day..

Bad news.. I was wrong when I thought I already had 430 miles.. It was 330! So doing the math... of 387 / 32 = 12.09 MPG... HOLLY Crap.. That includes about 300 miles of 70mph driving from Philly to Mass...

I expected bad fuel economy... but I was figuring bad being 14 city... 18 on the hwy... not 12!!!!

Also.. does the little MPG gauge work? is it pretty accurate?

Is this normal!?

I was getting about 13.5 overall with my 05 4x4. That is city/highway. When I pull a trailer, I get about 9 or 10. So yes, this sounds about right in my opinion.

I am happy with mileage over 14.5 mpg average.

The mpg gauge in my truck is off by about 1 mpg.

I just noticed that my 07 KR has a 30 gallon tank. I fill up every week and it runs about 85 bucks. I fill up with 1/4 of a tank left. I feel kinda bad about expensing anything over 90 bucks
