Tint front windows -Yes or No

Okay KR Owners,

How many of you have tinted the front driver and passenger windows to match the backs ? In Georgia we must allow more than 32% of light in and must not be more than 20% reflective.

Any advice for this newbie ?

In Arizona, the front limit is 35% I believe. I left mine the way they were.

Smcconaghie,

Not sure what % tint it took to match the back windows, but from the samples, it was much darker than the 32% tint. That's the drawback. I can tint the front, but unless I go darker, it won't match the back windows. Not sure how strict GA is in enforcing the law.

I tinted my front windows to 35%. That is the legal limit in Texas. I got 20% on the first time but my dad made me take it off and go back and get 35% back on. 35% is a little lighter than the back but it looks better than the no tint to me.

i did and i would. even at 35% it darkens the inside quit a bit. i wouldn't drive without it. i like it because it reduces the glare fro mthe side mirrors at night when someone is behind you. go for it.

Definitely do it, even if its only 35%, un-tinted front glass looks horrible on such a nice truck.

I told them I wanted the fronts to match the backs, but they don't quite. Close but not a match. Makes a huge difference in the Texas sun. Cost me $60 and was worth it.

I tinted my front with Llumar ceramic 15% (paid cash so they did it).

I think it matches the factory tint perfectly.

My front windows were supposed to be 20%, but according to a tint meter they are actually 32%. The rear windows are 18% according to my department's tint meters. How strictly the law is enforced varies from area to area.

For over a year, I've ran limo tint, 5% all the way around on my truck. My whole windshield is tinted 50%. I live in FL, and have not had a problem yet. I would consult w/ friends w/ dark tint to ask them if they have had any problems. I believe the back windows are tinted from the factory at 15%. Keep in mind that the untinted glass is 70%, so even going with a 35% tint would reduce light coming in the fronts by HALF.
