I just came back from a little shopping triip and I have to pass on what I saw in the parking lot:
It was a reasonably new, dark copper King Ranch (06 or 07 I think - round fogs), that was naturally elegant till you got to the wheels.
The guy had installed some aftermarket chrome wheels with those "rotors" that go round and round even when the truck is not moving. He wasn't even a "low rider" type, just a middle-aged guy with what looked like a middle-aged wife. What a terrible thing to do to a nice truck!
Ruined an otherwise pretty day - but gave me something to rant about!
WHERE ARE THE PICTURES! Sorry to yell, I had to get it out of my system.
I need to start carrying a camera...so that I may share with the rest of the group
Sorry Shine, I didn't have a camera. Guess I need to carry one too, so I can record these aberrations/violations of the "code of ethics" one has to agree to when owning a King Ranch.
Spinners don't belong on any vehicle, IMHO. But heck, if you're gonna do it, might as well get a billet fuel door and slap it on there, too.
Don't forget the flame in the grill.
OH, and the chrome girls on the mudflaps. I LOVE those!
Seriously, though, I don't think there is a whole lot of aftermarket stuff you can put on a KR and keep it looking classy. They are built the way they are for a reason.
No it was a buddy of mine...he is ok, the truck had 213 miles on it when a car pulled out infront of him....
Even worse! A brand new truck! Having had a couple of "rear enders" (don't know what those people were looking at when they ran me down), I know how you can never feel quite the same about a vehicle once it's been in a crash. Even if the body shop does a great job, you just know....
Enough of this sadness though! Let's hear from any of the rest of you about "tacky" mods to a KR. I sort of thought SleepyMax's suggestion for mudflap girls and flaming grills was a good idea.
Ground effect lights under the running boards would be a nice touch.
And, don't know why I didn't think of this before, a really classy addition would be a boat propellor in the hitch receiver!
